All the days of our lives wedding vows

Here’s the next set of awesome wedding vows in my series of amazing (de-identified) vows from one of my beautiful couples!

Some of my couples have written such incredible words of love and promise, and I thought they’d act as great inspiration for other couples who have no idea where to start when writing their own vows. While I provide all my couples with a vow pack that contains questions to get you started and loads of individual sentences that can be put together to create vows (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that), the vows in this series all include the kind of personal touches that I think make wedding vows beautiful and genuine. To me, the most successful vows are personal, from the heart, and written in language the speaker would use in their everyday life.

Also remember: the word vow means promise. While we all love hearing all the reasons you love your partner, your vows are your chance to tell your partner all the things you are promising them for your lives together into the future. Don’t forget the promises!

A reminder: these vows are published to inspire you and provide you with some ideas for writing your vows. They’re not here so you can copy them word for word!

Also remember these don’t include the legally required vows – those words generally go at the start of these ones.

Party 1

Today I choose to build my life with you. For all the times we have been together, there has always been the kind of mutual understanding which is only shared when there is true love. You are everything I need and at this moment I feel that all of my prayers have been answered.

I love what I know of you: your humour, your selflessness, your nurturing and caring ways, your passion to succeed, your strength in grief and adversity, and the depth of the commitments you make to us and our families.

I love what you have done for me: you have helped me triumph over challenges presented, and encouraged and supported my personal growth and boosted my self-esteem. You have helped me become the person I am today, and with your help, I will be a better person tomorrow than I was yesterday.

I vow to be your best friend, to comfort and support you, and be your unrelenting cheer squad in times of struggle, to celebrate and laugh with you in times of triumph, and to explore and enjoy life with you in the times in between. I will delight in the ways we grow to meet life’s changes.

I vow to be the companion of your house. I will work not to take you for granted in our day-to-day lives. I will strive to do my part to care for myself, for you, and for everything intertwined into our lives together, to encourage and inspire you, asking that you be no other than yourself.

I vow to strive to be a person you can trust and depend on. I will work relentlessly with you to build our future. I will respect your dreams as much as my own.

I vow to always listen to your advice, and occasionally take it. I vow to never keep score, even though I’m always winning. I vow to always clean up the mess you and the dogs leave around the house. I know you’re scared of birds so I vow to protect you and scare every single one of those feathered creatures away from you forever.

Today and for all the days of our lives together, I am proud to take you as my wife and pledge to be your family, in sorrow and in triumph, in sickness and in health, in plenty and in want, in closeness and in distance, till we’re old, grey and frail.

I believe there is no time or place I’m more content than when you are close to me. You are my soulmate. Because of this and so much more, I will always love you.

Party 2

You are my best friend, my soul mate, the love of my life. From the first day that we met until now, life has been one amazing and fun adventure. You make me so happy, and coming home to you and the gals is my favourite part of the day. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I feel so blessed to have you in my life.

You make me smile and laugh every day with your goofy ways. You are the sweetest, kindest, funniest and the most romantic person I know. You are the perfect gentleman and I never ever want you to change. You have shown me what real love feels like and for that I thank you. You are everything I need and at this moment, I know all my dreams have come true.

Today in front of our friends and families, I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to always love you and cherish you through whatever life may bring us. I promise I will laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow. I promise to always make time for us and to be your biggest fan. I will share in your dreams and support you as you strive to achieve your goals. I promise I will try to be neater and less messy in the house. I promise to never get sick of trying out new restaurants with you. I also promise to let you buy as many shoes as you like, as long as I get to buy as many handbags as I want

From this day forward, let us build a home together filled with love, laughter and joy. I look forward to raising our family and continuing our travelling and eating adventures together. With you, I have found true love. I love you with all my heart and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
