The next set of vows in this series is from a wedding in September 2018. If you want to know more about this series, check out previous entries here!

A reminder: these vows are published to inspire you and provide you with some ideas for writing your vows; they’re not here so you can copy them word for word! Please also remember these don’t include the legally required vows – those words generally go at the start of these ones.

Groom

To say I love you is not enough. To try to condense the depth of my feelings into a few words is impossible. It doesn’t tell of the respect I have for you as an individual, nor how tender and caring you are, nor the joy I find in your laughter. I admire and adore who you are and you continue to help me grow into a better person.

Each day I look at you and smile to myself and often, you will catch me looking at you and in that moment all I am thinking is how incredibly lucky I am to have found you. All it takes is a glance and you fill my heart with love and happiness, and today I promise you happiness for the rest of your life as we build a life together as husband and wife. I will carry you when you are weak, dry your tears, share the good and the bad times. I will encourage you and always put you before myself. I vow never to refuse a cheese platter and trashy TV night with you, to always remember the heater in the mornings, to always make you that much needed cup of tea, to be your lifelong chauffeur so you can avoid driving on the Monash. I promise to be faithful, honest, loyal, and loving. As time passes us by, that will not matter as I love you for who you are, you are my travelling partner, concert buddy, best friend, soul mate, one true love, and I vow to live a life together as one.

Bride

From the first time I met you I knew that you are the person I want to spend my life with. As I was considering cancelling our first date, Mum turned to me and said, “You never know, he could be the love of your life.”

I am so thankful that I took that leap of faith, because she was right. You are the one. You are the love of my life. You make me happier than I could ever imagine and more loved than I ever thought possible. You came into my life and have changed it in every way, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without you. Thank you for teaching me that love is possible.

I’m lucky enough to make the best decision of my life in marrying the only man that I’ll ever call home. I take you to be my best friend, my partner in life and my one true love. I give you my hand and my heart. I promise to love you truly through good times and bad. When life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort, I will love you unconditionally through all of our adventures in life together. You have stolen my heart and it will always be yours.
