Exactly who you are wedding vows
Here’s the next set of awesome wedding vows in my series of amazing (de-identified) vows from one of my beautiful couples!
Some of my couples have written such incredible words of love and promise, and I thought they’d act as great inspiration for other couples who have no idea where to start when writing their own vows. While I provide all my couples with a vow pack that contains questions to get you started and loads of individual sentences that can be put together to create vows (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that), the vows in this series all include the kind of personal touches that I think make wedding vows beautiful and genuine. To me, the most successful vows are personal, from the heart, and written in language the speaker would use in their everyday life.
Also remember: the word vow means promise. While we all love hearing all the reasons you love your partner, your vows are your chance to tell your partner all the things you are promising them for your lives together into the future. Don’t forget the promises!
A reminder: these vows are published to inspire you and provide you with some ideas for writing your vows. They’re not here so you can copy them word for word!
Also remember these don’t include the legally required vows – those words generally go at the start of these ones.
Party 1
We’ve been waiting a long time for this moment to come, and today, you give me this energy beneath my feet like something underground’s gonna come up and carry me, that makes me believe that you and I can do anything.
You are my Starlight, my Killer Queen, my Original Prankster, my Human and my Beautiful Girl. For you, I promise to cherish, honour and respect you and whoever you wish to be.
I promise to care for you through every aspect of our lives together. I promise to make wherever we are a home for us to live, through the good times and the bad. I promise to stand by your side as we take on the world together. For my heart belongs to you.
Party 2
You are the most amazing person I could have ever dreamed of marrying. You are the kindest, most considerate and the funniest person I have ever met. When I first met you, I described you to Mum as a breath of fresh air coming into my life, and that is still so true. I breathe easier around you, I laugh, sing, cry and just live easier with you. You are my home and my future.
I promise to always respect you, and take all your thoughts an opinions along with mine. I promise to always care for you, and to cook your favorite foods. I promise to always have adventures with you, to never stop travelling and experiencing new things with you, to widen our perspectives of the world together and meet people from all walks of life, to learn with you. I promise that even through the bad times, I will be by your side. I will always be your fiercest supporter, strongest defender and loudest cheerleader.
I cannot wait to be parents together, and I promise that raising kids will always we something we do as partners. Even though you will clearly be the fun parent, I promise to be silly too, and to try and make you laugh as often as I can.
Finally, more than anything, I promise that I will always love you for exactly who you are.
