It is very touching to know that, even though I’m sure you’ve been involved with many funerals over time, Loc’s stands out to you. Everything is sad and hard at the moment but I feel a certain peace that we were able to give Loc a funeral that honoured him as a complete person. We will continue to feel this huge 6’5″ hole in our lives forever. Thank you for your part in making Loc’s farewell so personal, honest and respectful. Others may reply also, but I just wanted to send my very deep appreciation for your role also in making Loc’s funeral such a fitting remembrance and celebration of his life. In reflecting afterwards, I think all of us felt that together we all got this right for Loc, and that he would have been happy with how we went about it. I know that this was also the experience of others who attended, Loc’s friends especially, and that is both important to me and a significant source of comfort. I’m now realising just how much that first week culminating in Loc’s funeral really was just the start of grieving for him, but I’m also sure that the journey from here will be better for the way we handled that first stage.
